CSI: POCONO

As PennDot crews were preparing our highways for the freezing rain last night, a garbage bag found in the median on Interstate 380 in Coolbaugh Township led to a gruesome discovery Tuesday (January 29, 2008) morning around 9am. Police were immediately called when the contents of the garbage bag revealed human remains. As police began to investigate the area, more bags along the interstate were found. Bags were also found on Route 80. More than 25 police officers were searching the area between Stroudsburg all the way to Gouldsboro searching for any more remains and possible clues. Police are not sure if all of the remains have been found, since a large part of the body is still missing according to reports. Police have categorized this as a homicide investigation, with no attempts to hide the crime. It is unclear how long these remains have been on the side of the road. Currently the victim is believed to be a light skinned woman, and all of the remains found seem to come from the same person. Anyone with any information is to please call: 570-839-7701
